It goes without saying that we are living in uncertain times these days! Everything from our health services, supermarkets and the way we live our lives every day has been affected. On top of this, with social distancing and self-isolation measures that have been in place, it’s not surprising that it’s had an effect on many people’s mental health.
With this in mind, I wanted to let you know that I’m doing my bit to keep to social distancing rules during this Coronavirus pandemic.
Your mental health and wellbeing are important and I'm here to help support you through it. I feel that facemasks will hinder the counselling process, so to ensure social distancing is maintained, all counselling sessions are being held online or by telephone until further notice.
For those that are new to counselling and don’t know me, I am a qualified counsellor and I have received further training in online therapy. If you feel a little anxious about the idea of using online methods for counselling, please don’t worry. I offer a free 15-minute consultation to all new clients, which means you can test it out before committing to see how it might work for you.
You may be surprised to hear that many clients actually prefer being online for their sessions, as it’s more convenient and can be less stressful. Being in your own home can often feel more comfortable than in a therapy room, and the outcome of counselling is still the same as being sat face-to-face, as it’s the relationship that's key to therapy being effective.
